As a kid, I was captivated by my Grandad's tales about the intricate systems he worked on at NCR (National Cash Register) from the '70s to the '90s. From punch cards to mainframes the size of washing machines, his stories painted a vivid picture of a tech landscape vastly different from today's sleek setups where everything fits neatly on a desktop.

Despite this early fascination, I took a different path, earning a bachelor's in political science and becoming a certified paralegal. The allure of an ever-changing legal landscape kept things interesting, but after five years in the field, I found myself at a crossroads. It was the SolarWinds and Colonial Pipeline attacks that became the catalyst for a new chapter.

The world of cybersecurity beckoned, and I heeded the call. My journey started with YouTube videos, evolved into a cybersecurity boot camp, and culminated in passing the CompTIA Security+ exam. This blog, my digital haven, is where I document the projects in my home lab and share the random bits and pieces I pick up along the way in my transition to the dynamic world of IT.
